Or order the 70% acid-only. You should always begin a peeling program by patch testing the skin to make sure you will have no sensitivities to the recipe selected. Begin with the 20% recipe first, then adjust up or down in percentage once you have finished your patch test. This peel, non buffered at 20%, will be as strong as 40% buffered products offered online. The kit will allow you to mix a recipe unique to your skin type....make weaker or stronger.....a light exfoliator or a deeper peeling product.....whatever you personally need. Multiple products not needed. This is a wonderfully versatile product. Post Peel: Sunscreen is needed after any peeling treatment with an SPF Factor of 30 or higher. Issues with darker skin tones:: If you have darker skin tones, strong glycolic acid may cause uneven lightening, in patches, on the skin and should not be used in high concentrations. Please refer to our 30% glycolic kit, or our 40% lactic acid kit. Cautions: Never use this peel at full strength. Always begin at the lowest strength and patch-test your skin before using on the entire facial area. This is a cosmeceutical product intended for the improvement of appearance. It is not intended to mitigate, diagnose, cure or treat any medical condition. If you have a medical problem, please consult with a qualified medical professional. Chemical peels...of any type...can cause injury, so use carefully and keep out of reach of children. General Peeling Cautions: Never use manual exfoliators nor scrubbing brushes within 24 hours of using a peel. Stop Retin A, benzoyl peroxides, acne products and any other drying agents 24 hours before and after using an alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy peel. If you are allergic to aspirin products, never use a salicylic acid nor beta hydroxy peel. Never apply a peel without doing a patch-test first and waiting 48 hours for results. Never apply a chemical peel to inflamed skin. Always read product directions in their entirety and don't take shortcuts. When in doubt about a caution, please write or call us for more information. Directions for use: Please....read the full instructions before using the product. Cautions: ALWAYS DO A PATCH TEST BEFORE USING ANY CHEMICAL PRODUCT. MISUSE CAN CAUSE BURNS AND/OR INJURY, SO PLEASE FOLLOW OUR INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY AS WRITTEN. Soap Neutralizes Glycolic Acid! If you are using soap-based products (sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate) they can diminish or completely neutralize results. You can remedy this by using a gentle facial scrub 24 hours before your patch test and/or peel. Our Green Tea Pomegranate Cleansing Gel (available on our website), Aveeno cleansing lotions or Aveeno cleansing bars are soap-free and are readily available at any Wal-Mart or drug store. Additionally, using a toner such as our Mandelic Acid Toner will help to remove surface residue before you begin your peel. General Information: Each person's level of sensitivity is going to be different. Begin with the 20% recipe and patch test a sensitive area such as the side of the neck. Wait 24 hours to see if there is any irritation, rash or other noticeable signs of over-sensitivity. Remember you are non-buffered glycolic acid with an acid reducer. It will be stronger then the buffered products you have used in the past. --Do not apply to skin that has open lesions, cold sores, etc. --Do not use on sunburned skin, irritated skin, or skin that is being treated with prescription strength products such as Accutane, Differin, Retin A or Retinol. Ethnic Skin Colorations And Possible Issues: Glycolic acid can cause patches of lighter skin on darker ethnic skin tones. Begin at the 20% level, do your patch test on an inconspicuous area, and make sure that the level of strength you have chosen does not cause discoloration issues. You will need: --Any type of cup or custard dish filled with warm water (no soap) for cleaning the eye-dropper. --Kitchen timer or watch with sweep-hand --Green Tea/Pomegranate Facial Cleanser (available on our website) --Sink filled with lukewarm-cool, soapy water with mirror. --The contents of your glycolic kit. - -- Moisturizer of your choice, but one that is acid-free for post peel use.   --Washcloth --Cotton balls or pads  -- Towel Pre-Peel Heads-Up: Do your peel in an area where you have access to a sink and mirror. 2. Lukewarm-cool soapy water will neutralize any burning sensations. If you've mixed the solution too strongly, gently remove the solution with lukewarm/cool soapy water until the acid solution has been completely removed. Any burning sensations will disappear after the solution has been removed. You may use your washcloth, but don't rub. Be gentle in order to avoid irritation. Then apply any moisturizer that is acid-free.   3. After your treatment, always use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher.  Use for 1 week post peel, as your skin will be very photo-sensitive. Mixing the Solution: Begin with the 20% solution ONLY as your first effort and as your patch test. Remember you can always move up if the solution isn't strong enough, or use more acid-reducer if it is too strong. Keep track of any recipe changes you make to suit your unique skin-type. Your acid reducer comes in a dispensing bottle. Begin mixing your peeling solution by using droplets of the acid reducer first. Drop the correct amount of Acid Reducer Droplets, from the dispensing bottle, into your mixing bowl (included with your kit). Then, add the correct amount of glycolic acid droplets into the bowl and mix with the acid reducer. DO NOT RE-USE YOUR SOLUTION OR POUR BACK INTO BOTTLES. ALWAYS MIX A FRESH SOLUTION EACH TIME YOU DO A PEEL. Clean the glycolic acid dropper, with water, post peel and allow it to dry completely before inserting it back into the glycolic acid bottle. To prepare 3 milliliters of solution:   Glycolic AcidStrength by Percentage   Drops of Acid Reducer   Drops of Glycolic Acid 20% 43 17 25% 39 21 30% 34 26 35% 30 30 40% 26 34 45% 21 39 50% 17 43 55% 13 47 60% 9 51 65% 4 56   How long should I leave the peel on my face and how often should I peel?1. Begin with a 30 second to 1 minute treatment your first time and increase from there until you find your unique level of sensitivity. Maximum time the treatment should be left on the skin is six minutes.  Once a week treatments are advised. Using it more often may result in skin irritation.  Solutions mixed at the lower percentages should be used every other week until you see how your skin will respond, then adjust accordingly.  Application of the Peel: Cleanse your skin and dry thoroughly.  Apply the pH prep solution with a cotton ball or pad to the areas you plan to treat. This will help to remove alkalinity on the skin's surface resulting from cleansers, etc.  DON'T WASH THE PH PREP SOLUTION OFF.  Just allow it to dry and then proceed.  Set your timer for 30 seconds - one minute the first time.  Using the taklon fan brush included with your kit, apply a layer of solution thick enough to cover the areas to be treated.  BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET INTO THE EYES!  If the brush is awkward for you, use your fingers to apply...just dip your index finger into the bowl.  Use sparingly around the eye area as this tissue is very delicate and will absorb the acid more quickly.  Leave on the skin for the recommended amount of time.  Neutralize by using lukewarm or cool soapy water to rinse the solution entirely from the skin.  Don't rub....using a washcloth is fine, but don't irritate the skin by rubbing.  Be gentle and completely remove all the solution.  Keep rinsing until the face feels completely clean. Pat dry.   Apply an acid-free moisturizer post peel. Use a sunscreen with SPF15 or higher for one week when going outdoors.  After the peel: Your skin will have some redness post peel.  This is normal and will fade as you use your moisturizer.  If the flaking or redness is excessive, using any topical sunburn product, like Solarcaine cream, will resolve the problem.  Dispose any remaining solution and do not re-use.  Don't pour any of your solution into the pH prep bottle, the acid reducer bottle, or the glycolic acid bottle.  Doing so will contaminate the various solutions and render them completely ineffective.  Flaking of the skin may occur within a day or two, depending upon the strength of your peeling solution.  This is normal.  Continue to moisturize the skin until the flaking subsides.  Ingredients:   Glycolic acid Ultra Pure (tm), deionized water, (70% unbuffered ph 0.6), glycerin USP, hydroxyethylcellulose, panthanol, methyisothiozolinone, benzyl alcohol.     Legal Disclaimer: Information provided within this entire website is intended to be used as general information only and is in no way intended to replace medical advice, is not to be used as a medical treatment program, nor to diagnose or cure any disease or medical condition. Mandelic/Salicylic Peel

Mandelic/Salicylic Peel

Mandelic (15%) Acid, Salicylic (15%) Acid Peel (Instructions listed above.)Our combination Mandelic Acid, Salicylic Acid Peel gives you a great alpha/beta treatment. Mandelic is an alpha hydroxy acid made from bitter almonds. It's molecular structure is larger than glycolic acid and lactic acid, thus causing it to penetrate the skin more slowly = less topical irritation. We've added the Salicylic Acid to help those of you with pesky acne and acne scarring issues. Benefits: Addresses issues caused by PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation). Helps to resolve general hyperpigmentation issues, particularly those from acne marks and scarring. Rapidly exfoliates dead skin cells and surface debris from the skin. Mandelic acid has antimicrobial/antibacterial properties. Salicylic acid will address clogged pores and sebum, making it an excellent choice for all types of acne, including cystic acne. Loosens blackheads for easy extraction. Excellent for clients with darker skin tones. It does not cause the unwanted, lighter skin tone changes that you might experience with other AHA's. Inhibits the growth of melanin, the cause of brown patches, freckles, uneven skin tone and other sun-related skin care issues. Mandelic acid, with continued use, can help repair sun damaged skin. Aspirin Allergy Caution: If you have aspirin allergies, do *not* use this product.   Nut Allergy Caution: This product is derived from bitter almonds.     What can I expect when using this peel? Upon application, within the first minute-or-so, you will feel very little topical sensation, perhaps none. Then, the skin may have a "warming" sensation, or slight tingling. Remember, that this acid will penetrate more slowly, thus the topical sensation will take a bit longer. Some clients will see actual peeling of the skin. Others will just notice the excellent exfoliation benefits and a brighter, more glowing skin tone.ImportantThis product is *not* a serum. It has a watery consistency, so either dip a q-tip into the bottle for application, or remove the cap, place a gauze pad on the open bottle and tip it over to soak the gauze, then apply. General Cautions: Never use manual exfoliators nor scrubbing brushes within 24 hours of using a peel. Directions for use:  Always patch test! Patch test the areas you plan to treat. If you are doing a facial peel, patch test a small area, about the size of a quarter near the jawline.  Follow the directions, below, rinse thoroughly then wait 24-48 hours to make sure your skin tolerates the peeling serum nicely Directions for doing your peel: Cleanse your skin with a non-acid cleanser. We recommend our Green Tea Pomegranate Cleanser. Rinse thoroughly and pat skin dry. pH Prep Solution – Dispense onto a cotton ball or pad and wipe your face to remove oils and dirt from the skin’s surface. If your skin is dry or sensitive this step can be omitted or substituted with Witch Hazel. Your first efforts at peeling: Begin with fewer minutes to ensure a safe experience. Then increase the on-skin-time as your own sensitivity levels allow. Apply the peeling serum. Begin at the forehead and work your way down the face, using thin layers of serum. Don’t rub the serum into the face. Just apply topically, making sure your skin is nicely covered with a thin layer(s).  Leave the peel on for up to 5-10 minutes.  Rinse with warm-to-cool water and cleanse again if desired. Make sure the serum has been completely removed from your skin. We offer a stand-alone Post Peel Neutralizer if you’d like to use it to ensure proper neutralization. Moisturize with a non-acid, non-retinoid moisturizer. We offer Argan Oil and  Green Tea Moisturizer. After the peel:Your skin may feel warm or appear pink. This is normal. However if, during the above process, your skin burns remove the peel immediately with cool water and/or use our Post Peel Neutralizer to stop the peel from processing. The above peels may not produce much in the way of visible peeling, but they are indeed rapidly exfoliating your skin. You will feel the softness immediately post-peel and most certainly the next morning. Your pores will be clean and skin texture will be more refined and radiant.Always use an SPF of at least 30 for several days after peeling. Freshly peel skin is photosensitive and needs SPF protection. If your foundation contains an SPF factor of 30+, this is acceptable as well. Use weekly for 8-10 weeks to see optimal results. Ingredients:SD Alcohol 40B, Mandelic Acid (15%), Salicylic Acid (15%), Propylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Purified Water, Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, Niacinamide, Inositol, Sodium Benzoate, Phytic Acid.   Legal Disclaimer: Information provided within this entire website is intended to be used as general information only and is in no way intended to replace medical advice, is not to be used as a medical treatment program, nor to diagnose or cure of any disease or medical condition. Fade Peel - Lighten, Brighten Skin Tones, Fade Age Spots, Acne Marks

Fade Peel - Lighten, Brighten Skin Tones, Fade Age Spots, Acne Marks

Fade Pigmentation Issues Ah, those stubborn sunspots and signs of photoaging... they just creep up on us as we age! It's a very common skin condition. Luckily, this doesn't have to be a permanent thing! Did you know that hyperpigmentation occurs from the production of melanin from too much sun exposure? Pretty much all forms of hyperpigmentation are due to this phenomenon. Our Fade Peel is a *potent* hyperpigmentation peel. If you have sensitive skin, use scrubs regularly, or cleansing brushes, begin with our Fade Serum first, which is less intensive. Our Fade Peel is appropriate for all types of skin discolorations and hyperpigmentation Formulated with Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Malic Acid, this is the product to try: Fade Acne Marks Fade Age Spots Fade Melasma Fade Sun Damaged Skin Even-out Skin Tones Deep cleans pores Revives tone and texture of the skin Softens lines, wrinkles, scars Resolve general hyperpigmentation issues Brighten dull skin tones Additionally, this peel provides: Superior Exfoliation Little-to-no downtime We formulated this peel for those of you with busy lives who don't want the downtime produced by stronger peels, such as our TCA line. In addition to Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Malic Acid, this peel also contains botanicals that are beneficial in fading topical skin discolorations. General Cautions: Never use manual exfoliators nor scrubbing brushes within 24 hours of using a home chemical peel or any kind of strong acids. Stop using retinol, any benzoyl peroxides, salicylic acid, acne products, and any other drying agents 24 hours before and after using an alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy peel. When in doubt about a caution, please write or call us for more information: info@makeup artistschoice.com Directions for use:  Always patch test! Leave the peel on for up to 5 minutes. Ingredients - Peeling Serum:Purified water, glycolic acid 30%, lactic acid 20%, kojic acid 2%, malic acid 3%, bearberry extract, licorice root extract, sodium hydroxide, aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate, xanthan gum, phenoxyethanol, capryl glycol, hexylene glycol.Ingredients - pH Prep Solution:Water, Witch Hazel, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, FD&C Blue #1.   Legal Disclaimer: Information provided within this entire website is intended to be used as general information only and is in no way intended to replace medical advice, is not to be used as a medical treatment program, nor to diagnose or cure any disease or medical condition.
