So when we went looking for a cigar to represent the Van Winkle brand, one that shared our family’s commitment to excellence, quality, and tradition and met Willy Herrera and Jonathan Drew of the Nicaraguan-based Drew Estate cigars, we knew we’d met our match—and a best-selling partnership was born, beginning with our barrel-fermented collection. Our newer Pappy Van Winkle Tradition cigars are made using Cuban seed and a blend of aged Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers and are fashioned by the top rollers at Drew Estate’s Nicaraguan factory and feature an oily Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper paired with an Indonesian binder. This premium smoke marries strength, spice, taste, and aroma and yields a fragrant, full-bodied smoke with heavy top-notes of chocolate, earth, and leather, seamlessly balanced with cocoa, cashews, and sweet tobacco. Cigars come in a lined, custom wooden box with 10 Toro size (6 x 50) cigars. Please be advised the seal might be cut as they are randomly selected while going through customs.

For those new to the collection, the Pappy Van Winkle Barrel-Fermented cigars are made with a combination of the finest Kentucky, Mexican, and Indonesian tobacco and are hand-rolled in small batches at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua and are unlike anything else on the market thanks to our unique barrel fermentation process. Throughout the 12-18 month fermentation process, bundles of Kentucky fire-cured tobacco are soaked in Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels, imparting a unique flavor profile and aroma. Made with single-origin Guatemalan whole beans aged in Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels, this one-of-a-kind blend with a mellow but completely unique flavor profile will appeal to coffee nerds and bourbon aficionados alike. We serve ours over ice with a splash of Pappy & Company pure maple syrup and a dash of cream. It’s also pretty darn tasty poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if we do say so ourselves.
